Back in the early days with the SD2100
Came across a few old photos tucked away that may or may not have been displayed on the site when my SD2100 used to talk to me swinging the 18"mono.
Many of the nuggets shown were retrieved from dry creeks, one trip I dug a 12g and a 13g within metres of each other. Returned at later dates with Minelab upgrades through to the GPX4500 and all up retrieved over 2ozs from about 100 metres of creek bed. Still looking for the source that these nuggets came from.
Cold morning preparation for another day with the SD. (Wish I could bend my right knee now as shown here.)
Gold & species from one successful trip. (The fly conveniently landed to give a size comparison.)
This was completely covered in iron stone, and in a creek near Ora Banda, luckily I kept it and chipped away a portion of the cover revealing gold. This little specie jumped out of my hand to stick on the magnet, how many do we throw away?

indeed good photos mate. I first started with the sd 2000 went 8months or more before I hit a bit and to this day that little 1,84gm nugg hangs around my wifes neck, I was that excited that I was home by 7,30am to show it off and like nightjar I have been back and got more but no where near 2 oz

Nice gold there, Nightjar. I think when my brother started detecting he had the SD2100.

Re: Back in the early days with the SD2100
A trip down memory lane indeed Pete & nice gold back then, with the difference being, the so called fly sh*t back then were as big as the fly itself. Now days, the fly sh*t is considered the size of the fly's feet. Just goes to show that elusive golden ointment, is not only getting smaller in size, but a lot harder to find with each passing day. Thanks for sharing some of the memories.
Cheers Kon.
