I’ve set up a YouTube Channel of my gold nugget finds
I’ve been gold detecting for a few years now and have set up a YouTube channel called ‘Gold Nugget Detecting’ ( original, I know ). I’m still uploading last year’s videos.
Anyway, if you have time check it out. If you like the video, click ‘Like’, to keep it on your list to look at click ‘Subscribe’ and if you want to be notified when I upload another video, click on the little Bell on the right of screen..

Re: I’ve set up a YouTube Channel of my gold nugget finds
Thanks Mike and Dave.
I now know what other fellow video makers go thru - finding a target, video camera out, set up on tripod, detect, find nugget, do a close up, fill in hole, put everything away, don’t forget to pick up everything and on to the next one. When you get back to camp, export video, save, edit and eventually post to YouTube.
Latest vid of 11 gram nugget posted last night.

Re: I’ve set up a YouTube Channel of my gold nugget finds
Thanks for your kind comments (& subscribing). That 11 gram nugget was the largest one for last year. Previous year I got an 18 gram, 14.5 gram & 12 gram gold nuggets. I’m getting more experienced and in that time had swapped over to the GPZ 7000 and that helped a lot. I have had the good fortune to meet people who have shared their knowledge too.

Re: I’ve set up a YouTube Channel of my gold nugget finds
I decided to do YouTube videos on Rules & Regulations for gold detecting in each State & Territory to assist ‘newbies’ and people who travel interstate in search of gold.
I’ve completed Part 1 QLD, NSW & VIC , Part 2 TAS & SA. Next one to go up will be Part 3 NT & WA. Links to the information I’ve provided have been placed in the ‘about/description’ part of the videos.
Feel free to share - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCH51k-fvTl_c7y0bzPEftPg

This coronavirus is keeping me from gold detecting so, I’ve put together another video on Hill End and the Holtermann Nugget if you’re looking for something to do.

Re: I’ve set up a YouTube Channel of my gold nugget finds
Well, QLD travel restrictions mean I can only go within a 150 km range to gold detect .... not enough. Waiting for them to crank it up to 1000 km within QLD.
Meantime, I’ve done another video on Ballarat and the Eureka Stockade, if you’re interested

Well, I still cannot go gold detecting - so put together a video on Charters Towers. Have a look. Do you think I should still persist, or do you think they are boring?

Re: I’ve set up a YouTube Channel of my gold nugget finds
Well, another vid uploaded tonight. This one is on Russian Jack, and his treck to take a sick mate to medical care in his wheelbarrow. Some say the trick was 200 miles, 300 miles, 300 klm .... So, it go a bit confusing. Anyway, he sounds like a gentleman and a Good Samaritan.

Re: I’ve set up a YouTube Channel of my gold nugget finds
Annie
Thanks for your interesting videos. I liked your story on Russian Jack and did not realise that he was buried in Fremantle cemetery.
The next time I am down that way, I will make a point of visiting his gravesite.
If anyone is looking for the headstone, the Metropolitan Cemetery Board lists his first name (incorrectly) as John, also known as Jack or Russian Jack.

Glad you enjoyed it, Col. My challenge in creating these videos is find research and material that is not copyright.

Re: I’ve set up a YouTube Channel of my gold nugget finds
As you know, us Queenslanders can still travel within the state. I took a week’s trip to Georgetown QLD and finally got in some detecting. This is my YouTube video of first (small) piece of gold. It was stinking hot up there during the day and I wasn’t very fit, being my first week, and it really exhausted me for a few days.

Re: I’ve set up a YouTube Channel of my gold nugget finds
I’ve had a crack at reviewing the trilobite solutions App on my YouTube channel. I used it in Clermont, Qld this year and am pretty happy with it.
Any WA users? I’d be interested to know how you find the App over there.

Hi Annie,
I have been using the Trilobite App for the last 6 months over here and it is now the only one I use. I have unsubscribed to The Happy Prospector App. All thumbs up for me.
Cheers

I wondered about it’s comparison with the Happy Prospector, so thanks for the feedback. I’m not very technically competent and I find it great to use and pretty simple.

Re: I’ve set up a YouTube Channel of my gold nugget finds
I’ve uploaded a couple of new YouTube videos in the last few weeks. These two videos contain instructions on how to find gold in Queensland using GeoResGlobe. The first video you can do research without having to sign up on GeoResGlobe for such things as finding a Place (town), adding layers for roads & railways to the Base Map, looking up gold mines and gold leases plus historical workings.
https://youtu.be/eXI8_CXg6ww
The Part 2 video is about Signing Up to GeoResGlobe (you need to do this to save and share Maps you create), saving Maps and looking up on Google Earth.
https://youtu.be/tG9zH0C4ztY
Anyway, some people who prospect in Queensland may get something out of them.
