today was the first day playing with the 12x6 xcoil on my gpx 5000 I ended up with a .02gm at1,1.5inchs the main thing that stood out for me was the fact that you could crank the crap out of it!!!!!!! the area I worked I have worked with the 5000 and 12/15' evos and the GPZ with 14'coil both detectors had trouble handling the ground noise as the mineralization is far to concentrated in places to work with gowning left to right on every swing but running the xcoil was completely different,,,, with the 12inch and 15 inch evo I have trouble running a gain of 12-14 and stab of 8-10  in fine gold (wont get to in depth with settings yet) with no chance of running normal at all,,,,, same area today using the 12x6 xcoil I found I could run a gain of 20 Shocked stab of 15-17 even 20 and have it quite stable but switch into normal and have it run fine FTW  the more I cranked it the more touch sensitive it became but still Easley workable not sure why???? in normal the odd hotrock would show up(only to be expected) the thing that made me wonder was the target signal in normal was not as sensitive as fine gold mabie because the targets arnt that deep mainly dozer chips and the small nugget the only thing that came close to fine gold was sens extra with sharp and sens smooth not getting a look in could here them but not as good as fine gold all the wile running a flat out gain and stab of around 15-17,,,, so far im inpressed with the fact that these coils can be maxed out (in certain areas ) way more than the evos BUT I have not had a deep target yet to see how the depth preforms  as far as the front panel goes deep and enhance are on per with each other (haven't fine tuned anything yet) but time will tell so all in all happy so far Cool

It's good to see your liking the coil Joe, so day one is a success then, and I hope it can find you a deeper target to get an idea how it compares to the others then.

cheers dave

yeah mate so far so good the ground here will nearly never let you run normal and if it does every 3rd swing is a false target but not with these new coils will be playing again tomorrow chasing those deep ones Cool
