First Inglewood gold.
Hi everyone.
Yesterday I ventured out to Inglewood. I rarely go there and I wanted to find my first piece there and I was rewarded. Not having visited the area much I wasn't familiar with it and we spent a bit of time searching for suitable ground. I did see one viable area but it was thick with scrub and my prospecting partner didn't own a GPS so I thought it better to move elsewhere.
We detected for about an hour out near the old reservoir but got nothing. We went looking for another area but it appeared to be farmland now. Maybe I took the wrong track. We headed back closer to town and found a reasonable area that looked promising. Within 10 minutes I had my first and only piece for the day, right on the surface.
I think it will have about 0.2 gram in it. It has a fair surface area of gold. Maybe there is hope out there for my arch nemesis town, Tarnagulla. I spent a lot of time around Tarnagulla with the Minelab Goldseeker 1500 and never found a thing.
Good luck out there.
Regards Axtyr.

Re: First Inglewood gold.
Some form of colour, is better than no colour at all. Well done Axtyr. No matter where one detects today, gold finds are no longer as prominent as they use to be.
Cheers Kon.

Re: First Inglewood gold.
You've done well Axtyr - I know people who haven't ever found gold there. It's there (so I'm told) but needs a bit of burning to get to areas not too done over. And yes, I've found a few bits there.
Funny you mention Tarnagulla - when I go to Vic I now stay at the cricket ground reserve and hope to find a bit of gold in the area one day.
