NNW OF INGLEWOOD VIC.
Gday all.
The young fella and I,got away from the concrete jungle for a 3 day detect,a few klms NNW of Inglewood. The wintery weather was cold by night but superb for swinging a coil during the day.
Cut a long story short,we only came up with 3 bits of colour for a total of 2.2 grams, but, what a good quality time we had, chasing the golden ointment.Top camp-fire by night, exquisite cuisine, good company, followed by a good drop to boot. What more could one ask for, camping in this splendid, great outdoor, bush life of ours? It's heaven I tell ya's.

Re: NNW OF INGLEWOOD VIC.
Some good gold there Kon. Did it come out of the bottle with the golden liquid?

Re: NNW OF INGLEWOOD VIC.
Thank you my fellow prospectors. Axtyr, the little colour found on this trip, was insignificant compared to the good time we had.To be honest with ya,on cold clear starlit nights, the scotch bottle, was the comforting gold factor
Cheers Kon.

Re: NNW OF INGLEWOOD VIC.
The grub looks good kon61, sounds like you had a great time and there was enough gold found to pay for a couple of bottles of liquid refreshments for the next trip.

Time on the ground more than anything else,is the key to scoring gold constantly 9CT. Time of which many of us (for some reason or another) haven't got.
I met a retired Tasmanian couple roundabout the same time last season, prospecting up around Rheola Vic,who put shame to me and the young bloke, one for showing me a very recent find of 1.8 oz slug of gold,in the shape of a golden boot and that they were chasing their 100th oz in 5.5 months of detecting all around the northern parts of the Golden Triangle.
When asked what was the key to their success,(using a 4500 and 7x14 NF coil) he said 5 hrs a day 6 days a week ground time.Nothing more nothing less. That's basically 30hrs a week detecting, averaging 3ozs of gold per week between them. Top supplementary wages for any retired couple and a lifestyle to suit. I can tell ya,they were as happy as Larry doing their own thing,at their own leisurely pace, away from the concrete jungle rat race and getting rewarded for it.
But,once again,I don't want it to sound like chasing the lure of the golden ointment,an easy task, for its far from it,but anyone who's prepared to put in the research and ground time, can have its rewards.
Cheers Kon.

Re: NNW OF INGLEWOOD VIC.
Nice colour Kon,
Your trip sounds like gold to me Nothing like spending quality time with your child/children. My boys(4&6) and I spend on average 6 to 7 weeks a year camped under the stars and if I had my way it would be a lot more. We cant get enough of it. Were off to the GT for 5 nights starting Friday, I've got the camper pack and I'm looking forward to doing a bit of fishing around Cairn Curran, prospecting a few new places within 100k's of camp and sussing out some of the old goldfield relics. Don't think they could handle 5 days of just prospecting ? Maybe next year? Hahaha.. Sounds like we detect around the same area, so I might see ya out on the slopes some day. All the best for the rest of the year and happy hunting.
Cheers, NG.

Good on ya & thanks for the kind comments NG. M8,when you're with good, worthwhile company and not referring to just my son,but any good down to earth honest people,no matter what happens in way of the unexpected, the journey always ends up for the better and that in itself,is worth its weight in gold.

A drop or two of Bourbon always relaxes the muscles after a day of lugging around a backpack, pick and detector.
Well done....

Hi Kon, great stuff mate Took my young bloke for the first time in many years last week,It was actually him that was pushing for it to happen Had a great time spending the day with him, even though only picking up 4 bits for 6 grams.Don't know about anyone else, but it makes me proud Father and son, in the bush teaching him what shortcuts you have learn't over years.Gold is just the excuse

'Onya Kon....Great "Fare & Single Malt"...any Nugget is a good Nugget...well done. A couple of months back I hit a "Patch" not too far from Inglewood...50 Grams...the largest was 39 Grams...I was stoked. (Total of eight Nuggets were found within a 200 Square meter area.) Regards, Nev
