So this new comet discovered observed and photographed on Dec 9th has a Hyperbolic orbit with eccentricity of 3.7
This means that it has originated from the stars not from our solar system.......Ya gotta wonder: If it has a hyperbolic ORBIT; What is it in orbit around. alien affraid.... The answer is likely that it is not in orbit around anything, it is just a random bit of rock drifting through space and we will never see it again. Sad
It is realy fanging it  at nearly 109,000 kph. Something has given it a good push.....or maybe Pull, aye!

It's interesting because it's the second time something from outside our solar system has visited in recent years.  Recently - in October 2017, "Oumuamua"  (Hawaiian for "scout" or "messenger"), passed through our solar system in a very peculiar manner.

"Our high-precision measurements of 'Oumuamua's position revealed that there was something affecting its motion other than the gravitational forces of the Sun and planets," said Marco Micheli from the European Space Agency.  Whilst theories for these changes in speed and direction included water vapor jets being heated by our sun, none of the computer modelling was able to reproduce the results because the slow 7.5 hour rotation of the object dispersed any vibration or energy transference.  This left the scientists with a deep mystery.  More recent studies have suggested that this visitor was merely a "fluffy" comet that later shed its exterior, revealing a slender core before catching anyone's attention.

What's interesting about Oumuamua is that it was exceptionally long and thin, and was also apparently bright red (according to the doppler imager).  That alone was interesting but what caught the attention of the scientists was that it changed course (and speed) during its travel through our planetary system.  The course-changes were unaccountable. As was the object's change of speed... which was entirely unexpected.  Travelling at around 38kmps, the object sped up without warning or explanation.  This is what led several leading scientists to suggest that this was possibly a probe (manned or unmanned) from another world.  The scientific community is now deeply regretful that they didn't have more time to observe the interstellar visitor with probes or in greater detail.  Cameras did capture the object as a wandering speck among the stars.  And the sudden acceleration took place as the object was departing, not upon arrival... adding more mystery to the story.  In early 2019, scientists who had been drinking copious amounts of coffee for a year to try and determine that the object was not of alien origin... determined that it almost certainly wasn't a visiting probe sent by aliens.

I'm guessing there is.  But I sometimes wonder about the so-called intelligent life here on our own planet.

NASA's top scientist Ellen Stofan (who was literally their Chief Scientist) predicts that we'll find signs of Alien life by 2025 (see link)

https://www.huffingtonpost.com.au/2015/04/08/nasa-alien-life_n_7023134.html

Laval university in Quebec claims to have analized over 2.5 million stars and galaxies before detecting sequenced light pulses.  They were able to use the Fourier Transform method to determine the sources of the signals. The scientists determined that the perioric modulated components were caused by super-quick light pulses of less than a trillionth of a second) and their paper states that they believe these were fired by powerful lasers and are not natural in origin.  Their conclusion, take it or leave it, is that there's over 234 alien civilizations using this technology - presumably for communication. (see link)

With over 8.8 Billion habitable Earth-size planets in the Milky Way galaxy alone, and with organic molecules detected on comets and on mars, I'd say it's likely there is. (Organic molecules are the building blocks necessary for life on earth, they aren't considered life forms themselves).
