Re: Camping on a mining lease in Nth Qld- Petition to sign & help
Also have signed- May I have a few words- The owners of this mine are trying to help us prospectors pursue our love for this hobby ( And lively hood for some) What kind of
Morons" run this state, can't they see everybody wins if they allow the owners of Golden Spear Mine to set up a camping ground, more money spent getting there, fuel, food, fossicking licenses etc. Even if there wasn't much gold to be found most of us have never been up to the " Palmer" just heard or read about it.It certainly would be on my bucket list . There is very little " Crown Land" in Qld ie like down south, "The Powers to be here do their best in closing as much Auriferous areas as suits them, ie most of Qld goldfields are now inside National Parks, Cania's Goldfield is mostly under the man made lake which baffles me, even those idiots can't have access to the gold. Come on Authorities let The owners of the Golden Spear mine set up the camping grounds & give all the prospectors some hope for the future, it is about time Qld had some positive news & a " Break" from all the political stubborn B.S

Well said YibiDavid. In years to come we will all look back and wonder just how this situation ever came to be. And all to late for any action. I really hope golden spear mine succeed and beat the red tape. It just seems ludicrous that the government can close land slowly everywhere australia wide for hobby activities, and private land should also not be locked but given special rules so we can prospect on it. Sure, landowners will jump up and down but surely there can be some regulations set so that the land owners do not suffer any loss.
Have signed as well.

Re: Camping on a mining lease in Nth Qld. - Petition to sign & help
If the Golden Spear Mine is an active mine and on an active mining Lease then why can't the lease holders allow anybody they wish onto the lease?
If the lease is in a national Park then these are for public recreational use within certain guide lines.
The lease would have been established before the surrounding area was declared a National Park, therefore the lease holder has control of who is allowed onto the lease for the duration of the lease because the lease cannot be part of the park until the lease expires. ... Be nice if that were the case??

The lease in question, is on a pastural lease.
The owner of the pastural lease is cracking the shitz...
Because a small time operator, wants to shake it up....
The Pastural holder used to allow detector/prospectors on his lease, but after 10,000+ people arrived from all over the world, to his property, to watch the solar eclipse......
He shut it down.......
Gary's idea is sound, and it should have consideration.... the frikkin pastural lease is 1000's.... Golden Spear is 25.......

Yes, I detected on that part of the property before he shut it down, and was getting to know it fairly well.
