No shame in calling it as it was seen to be after testing Dave. After all & as you say, they have to perform satisfactorily over Australian goldfield soil conditions. Anyone could wind a coil, but choosing the best allowable wire tolerances/impedance in order to perfectly match the detectors output frequency, can be more than a challenge. Perseverance will eventually pay off, but to what extreme or lengths is one prepared to go to in doing so is another matter, for there are many shape/size exotic coil wires out there for coil windings'. Oh well, back to the drawing board. We waited 2 years for the 19 inch GPZ coil, I'm sure we can wait a few more weeks for these new aftermarket GPZ 7000 coil designs. Best of luck Stan.
