Re: Changed forum web address
yes, havent been able to log in for about two weeks. tried google - no go. finally emailed a mate and asked him to try it, he gave me a site to click onto.
that worked. but think about it kon and management --- was unable to get to the detecting site, so was unable to see your information that the name was changed, might pay you to send a multi email to users to advise of the new log on info, as google couldnt help me, there must a heap of fellas with limited computor skills not being able to log in. anyway, I AM BACK, that must be a relief to a lot of you LOL

Re: Changed forum web address
G'day gents
I have no issues sharing this new info with FB so that FB members know the new changes that have recently taken places Johhny. By all means put it up on Face Book & let them know.
Kev I hear ya, but sending out a newsletter in the form of an email/text to 8500 registered members is not a hard thing to do, but having just 50 of those registered members emailing me back (not alone any one else) asking for reasons as to when/why the changes took place, would be one large headache for me.
Besides, if one Googles golddetecting.4umer.net, they would immediately see the words "This site can't be reached" followed by search Google for "gold detecting 4umer net" which in turn, brings them to the "Gold Detecting & Prospecting Forum'. (golddetecting.forumotion.com) All one has to do is click on to this " Gold Detecting & Prospecting Forum" & they're on the forum.
Cheers Kon.

The $20 fee is for the forum owner (foreign ownership)
What a joke as all the information there was given freely.

Re: Changed forum web address
Look fellas, this isn't rocket science we're dealing with. With the recent changes in order to better this forum for all of us members, as well as guests having a gander, I too (at the beginning) found myself locked out & scratching my head as to why "Golddetecting (4urmer.com.net) was no longer active?
So immediately decided to Google, "Gold Detecting & Prospecting Forum" This brought me directly to golddetecting.forumotion.net. (This Forum) & I was able to log on with the same name/password.
If I had known all this change for the better, would have changed the forums IP address also, I would have notified all members/management, 3 months in advance. All who seek it, will find it.
By the way, I intend keeping this forum free to all & any (within reason of course) regardless of what charges I incur towards in doing so.
To start off with, I'm sure you all appreciate a forum with no b******t advertising popping popping up on your screens & a lot more storage space, are only some of the included changes. Patience guys, it will all fall into place over time, regardless of how slow things are moving now.
Cheers Kon.

G'day Evan
Like I said in my last post above, "If I had known the changes I had made to to this forum, would have also required me to change the forums IP Address, I would have put it up as a sticky, for all members to read 3 months in advance"
