Busted quik trak button
I broke the little green button off my 4000 (spare /backup machine)6 months ago getting it out of the car.
Last time I did this cost me $150 to replace whole arm.
This time i managed to get the little green button back on and it has'nt fallen off
and still ground balances!
Problem is - the little red grommet which came off with the button.
Try as I might I could not get it onto the white switch and get the button on.
So I gave up and just put the green button on and it works.
Problem is I think its no longer waterproof/resistant, and i,m scared I'll kill the machine if any moisture gets in.
Does anyone know the trick to repairing this beast ?

Re: Busted quik trak button
Staples, I vaguely remember Jaycar had an alternative press button switch.
I think it was Frank Wallace (The Digger - forums pseudo) who put me onto it.
Worth a try.

Yep, the Jaycar button will work, but you will need to take up the space a bit as the thread is smaller than the hole in the handle, so you could use tape, hotglue, silicon, chewing gum, really whatever floats your boat!

Staples61 Hi again. Try Coiltek again. They may be able to help you out on this one as well. They carry a few spares.

hey Staples
yeh Nightjar is correct. Jaycar has them and most of them are less than 10 bucks. Jaycar calls them a "momentary action switch". They`ve got all different types, you`ve just got to find the one that is the right size. I think you`ll find it`s SP0756 or SP0757, but don`t hold me to that.

Re busted quick track button....
Simple..................just roll a condom over the button and onto the handle.....and bingo it's 99% leakproof (too easy)!
Be lucky.
