Re: making covers?
Joe I use a hockey or tennis racket wrap from Rebelsport on my Zed. It stops the foam sucking all the oil from my hand, I used to get bleeding cracks on my thumb and forefinger from my 4500 handle after several days of swinging, never thought of getting a wrap until some kind person mentioned it on this forum when the Zed was born.
It helps with sweat too, and keeps the original grip in good nick.
As an afterthought, you could get some fingerless gloves like what JP uses. I prefer not to wear gloves though.
Cheers.

Re: making covers?
I have been using the tennis racket tape for the last few years Absolutely brilliant. It also means that you don't need to grip as tightly which effectively makes your swing more fluid and relaxed.
Get some extra when you buy it and keep it in the spares box because when the tape comes off/frays/rips you will wonder how you ever survived without it.

I used to hate gloves too until one day I found a bull ant in my hand, wasn't pleasant, I use JP gloves since then.
