GPX 4500 mimicing SDC 2300 in performance
I have purchased a GPX 4500 but still have a SDC 2300, I'm thinking of selling the 2300, I wonder if its possible to set up the 4500 to mimic the performance on small gold and lead shot of the 2300 (this may have already been answered in other threads) If you use an 8 inch coil and appropriate settings. Hard to justify both detectors unless there is a significant difference. Any feed back would be appreciated.

Re: GPX 4500 mimicing SDC 2300 in performance
Not really an expert at detecting, but from my use with the 4500 and the Coiltek Elite 11' I'm getting heaps of small lead shot. My smallest bit of gold was 0.06gm. I've also gridded an area that my friend has done with his sdc and found weeny little bits that he had missed but that was using a Detech 6' coil. From what I've seen observing others is the sdc was still a better choice overall if chasing small gold especially on flogged to death mullock heaps. The 4500 was close in performance but not quite as good. I'm actually thinking of buying one myself but will wait for a new release.

I have found that running my new gpx4500 with the nugget finder evo 14x9 coil I get the best of both worlds, I rarely use my GB2 anymore, and I find gram size gold very deep as well as tiny grain size gold near the surface, I can easily find #9 birdshot to about 3 inches deep while nugget detecting using the evo 14x9. I rework any producing areas with my 14" elite round coil for deeper gold.
