l have a garrett AT gold, l turned it on today and the LCD screen comes on everything seems normal except it doesn't detect , when l pass the coil over a metal objects it no longer dectects or makes a noise, nothing happens. Theres nothing wrong with the volume as it makes a noise when l adjust threshold. Anyone guess what the problem is?

Might sound a little silly, but is the coil screwed in or does it make a noise when you wiggle the connection, both where the wire plugs into the detector and where the wire attaches down at the coil?

Yes l checked the coil was screwed in properly, l reset the detector but still having the same problem, everthing seems normal except the detector does nothing when the coil passes over a metal object, l started having the problem after l recharged the AA batteries and put them back in, but l don't see how that caused it, do you think its a faulty coil or faulty coil lead wire
