Portable in Car Navigation Empty Portable in Car Navigation

Hi, have just read the following posts
https://golddetecting.forumotion.net/t1443-portable-car-navigation-system
and just wondering if this is still working on portable sat navs as it is a few years old.
Have been looking for a navigation solution rather than having a laptop on board, especially if live and pending tenements can be added as well as moving map tracking and waypoint marking.
