Soil timings Empty Soil timings

When using the GPX 5000 on normal soil timings dose this mean the timings on the LCD end won't work untill the soil/ timing is switched to special?

Yes, that is correct. When the front switch is set to "normal" that is the only timing, same as "enhance". When you switch to "special" you then select your special timing from the timing menu on the lcd.
