Power lead end protector
Having nearly trodden on the connector end of the power cable I was unable to purchase any suitable end caps .So I made my own;cut a 35 mm piece of 1/2 inch diameter dripper tube [Bunnings] and squirt about 15 mm of roof silicone in , I take the nozzle off and use silicone directly from the cartridge .The bonus is that the tube keeps the end of the connector perfectly round and is easier to connect behind your back to the battery. It has been used by a number of my detecting mates and is well tested .

Re: Power lead end protector
As requested, a couple of pics to show what I'm on about. They work well and protect the connection nicely.

Re: Power lead end protector
Good solution. I jambed mine in the car door & had a bit of fun reshaping it to fit the detector/battery again. But got there eventually.
Good luck out there

Yes, they are a bugger to fix and so easy to damage.
I use rubber chair leg protectors, and have them on all bare leads, coils included.

Re: Power lead end protector
Hi there Redfin, I got a coil......I think it was from Bendigo Gold.......& it came with a protector cap like that fitted on the end of the lead. Hadnt seen or heard of them before that. Good idea. Even for keeping dirt & muck out of the pin connectors.
Good luck out there
