First SDC2300 Mission!!!
Well I now know it works!!! (on lead n' stuff anyway)
So I had it set to normal (#2).....threshold to maximum so I could hear a constant steady audible tone (no headphones) and boy does she go off when you go over one these badboys!!!!
Are my settings right? In comparison; what If I went over a 1g bit of gold at same depth (1-4inches)? Same sort of blasting beep....or is it much more fainter?
Didn't even try the headphones...will tomorrow....!
Found 1 or 2 pieces quartz on the ground and then found it embedded in granite close by, but just a blob of it...not a big line or anything?
Have started to study up and am on the lookout for granite w/quartz reef! Think I even found some iron stone?
Any and all advice taken....and boy do I need it!!!
Stoked!

Re: First SDC2300 Mission!!!
Nah...just just looks like sandy-yellow coloured granite to me...not shiny at all...will crack her open tomorrow and have a bit better look
Just had a bit more of a read of the book....
Walked around today only on #2 with the threshhold maxed out and with no earphones on...I don't think I'm prepared for the slight minimal audio variations I'm probably meant to be looking for.
I'm guessing small bits of gold i.e. >1g, DON'T (audio-wise) go off like a shotgun-pellet or bullet casing? Should I be listening for much smaller subtle audio variations?
Will definitely use the headphones tomorrow and have a good play around with the settings...might even bury some type of target and practice?
Cheers for the advice.

Re: First SDC2300 Mission!!!
Yeah SMASH them! Wade1977
I hope there's a nice bit of gold in them for you.
Yes .. You should be listening to those slight audio changes.
I found a .3 of a gram down 6 inches in the red clay where it had been surfaced out .
It was an iffy sound.
Just re-read your post.
I can't understand how you can have the threshold up so high
I have mine on the first light, with the second light just flashing.
I also have my sensitivity set on max 5..
I auto tune it a few times, by laying it down on the ground with the coil laying flat.
if it's not running fairly quiet, I then do it again, moving the detector slightly, if still not happy, I then move it and re-tune again.. This may take a few goes.
Till I am happy with it..
I also haven't used the headphones with it yet.
This idea was given to me by a very damn good sdc2300 user..
THANYOU Ron It works a treat!
I ground balance it when I think it needs it.
I find HEAPS of shotty pellets.. But I also have some nice tiny bits of gold.
Hope this helps you.

Re: First SDC2300 Mission!!!
Thanks for the advice!
Very green.....Today was day #1!!!
Will try #5 tomorrow and keep the threshold right down with head-phones...
What do you mean by auto-tune?....Noise cancellation or ground balance....haven't read anything in the manual about auto-tune???
So many questions!!!

Sorry if I confused you.. It's the noise cancellation button, I was told that I should have it set to just the one solid red threshold light... with just the second one maybe just flickering.
I am still vey green as well.
Just very very lucky to know some sdc2300 owners that passed their knowledge over to me
There are great members on here willing to share their knowledge.
