I think I'm the first
Here's what happened
I've had my SDC 2300 for just over 3 months now and have to admit I love it. Posted on this section before already that I have already worn out 6 coil covers with 100's of hours use (I'm a scrapper) I noticed months ago that the coil would not no matter what I did tighten up that stops it flopping left or right. Anyhow last weekend I Drove 300 klm out to country where I started Gold detecting where the worst thing could happen. Out in the middle of nowhere *THE 8 INCH COIL BROKE OF SHAFT OF MY SDC 2300* .In fact the coil was only dangling by it's coil cable
I should of taken a before photo of it broken but I was a bit stressed and busy at the time working out how to get it going again so missed the opportunity. It broke just past the knuckle where the blue tube enters the back of the 8 inch coil. BTW there a watertight section with a large black O ring back there ( All of which are broken now
At least I know the coil still works ( the tiny bit of gold in the photo's)
On a side note it's amazing what some duct tape and pull ties can do !
Hoping to struggle on till the GPZ7000 comes out I'll then when I have it it my grasp, and if the 2300 it lasts that long send it in to the Minelab hospital.

Re: I think I'm the first
Certainly doing its job. Given that the 5000 would find those bits as well, how would you compare the two of them?
