Back to 4500 for me
Got a couple of pm's asking why we sold our gpz,so i better get this over and done with.
Performance wise its a great detector,i can see it has more grunt then a gpx,if you think it hasn't and you detect in mineralised ground do a few simple tests,no good testing a gpx in normal if ya can't detect your areas in normal,ya just having yourself on.
In saying that though you gotta have the ground for it,we prospect new country only and in 2 1/2 years in WA weve found one area and mostly shallow gold,in the 2 or so weeks i owned it it didnt pull anything significant at depth in a couple of spots i got deeper gold. Found about 1oz + with it but my 45 would have got 90% of them.
As a patch hunter its behind the 8 ball, the weight makes it hard, just did 3-4 hrs this arv with my 45 and 18 mono walking the hills, what a breeze...
Was talking to Les Lowe on the ph yesty arv and i said Les you know the rich blokes with their sportscars, they'll have one or a couple as everyday drivers then they have their "track car" thats what i liken it to,if ya haven't got a track for it it won't perform.
My backs been a bit dodgy to so the gpz doesnt help but for prospecting if i was 100% id still use my 45 i think.
If we hit a juicy area i'll probably be buying one again, allready having a few detectors and then $10700 tied up in another that would sit around 99% of the time is bad business.......
Like the peformance allthough not as good as we where led to beleive....
Hate the price....
No cords,wireless- bloody awsome.....
Batteries are cheaper - a good thing.....
Weight and balance for extended periods-chithouse....
Salt lake? dont even try it LOL
So not all bad just doesn't suit us at the moment,if it was cheaper i wouldn't mind having it sitting around waiting to let lose on a good spot with deep gold but $10700 with limited abilities for me i gotta let it go.....

Hey Goldchaser
Mate thanks for the update & your no crap outlook on the new unit, makes sense what your saying, go out & work that GPX4500 & develop some more area's for the GPZ in the future.

G'day goldchaser
Thanks for putting up a post with your honest thoughts about the Zed and why it's not quite suitable for you at present.
All the best with what your doing.
cheers dave

No probs Lee and Dave, its a tool, and at the moment i don't have much use for it,don't mind tools laying around the bench but not $10700 ones, keep plugging away, hopefully find a jobsite for the gpz ....
