GPZ7000 SOLD OUT!
G'day all,
Got an email from Miners Den,telling me the that the first batch of 7000's are already sold out ( I wasn't buying one anyway )
And they asked me if I wanna register for the second batch
Still don't know how much this thing is gonna cost??

That's right Sharkbait, I err... bought the lot.
Now if anybody wants one, I'll be selling them on Ebay starting next week. Opening bid is $13000 plus $300 delivery. Come one, come all, grand sale, grand sale.

Maybe not mate
I have been told that because of detector thefts in the past, some of the detector shops will only hire out a 7000 if you slap down the full purchase price as a deposit PLUS whatever the hire charge is
(can`t blame them really, they must get sick of hired out detectors getting knocked off )
cheers dave

Re: GPZ7000 SOLD OUT!
Just had a look at the Intro vid for the Zed.
Nice looking detector and it appears that they did a bit of Nokta type depth testing.

G'day Alchemist,i'm on their mailing list, and the email was from "Miners Den Australia" so I don't know if it was one specific store or all of 'em
I suppose you'd have to get on the blower and make some enquiries

Re: GPZ7000 SOLD OUT!
I'm surprised they didn't ask you to register for the 3rd or 4th shipment as well sharkbait? Clever marketing indeed.By holding back or delaying deliveries,is a sure way to keep people on the edge of the diving platform. So much for any discounts hey?
Trust me guys, the gold currently left in the ground, has been there for thousands of years and it ain't going to go walk about now, upon hearing the GPZ is out.
Cheers Kon.

Re: GPZ7000 SOLD OUT!
Thanks Sharkbait, Maybe each outlet only gets a small quota for the initial release.
Too true Kon, the first ones will be so busy digging these deep holes for hobnails, brass buttons and horse shoes, that it'll take them months to cover all the public areas!
Cheers

Re: GPZ7000 SOLD OUT!
Phoenix, you mentioned paying cost price to try one out, well when i get better if i had to i would be in that. At the end of the day with all the hype about this new machine, trying it or seeing reputed peoples reports ln this machine will be the only way of justifying the reported price tag. And as long as you can return and say yes i will take it or no, give me back my money for trying it out will be the only way of seeing its true value. TG

Re: GPZ7000 SOLD OUT!
Months, more like years Alchemist. By the time each one swinging a GPZ 7000 goes over every section of ground they had previously found gold on/in,how will they ever find the time to cover the hundred or so places each and everyone else have found gold in?
The newbies entering this game believing there going to make fortunes are the ones to worry. By the time they learn what I'v learnt in 25 years of metal detecting,a lifetime wont be enough to cover it.A few extra months of waiting gathering more conclusive, performance facts down,on the capabilities of the 7000 as compared to the 5000,before jumping in head first,is a wise move.Like I said, the gold ain't going anywhere.
Cheers Kon.

And if the price Kon, is over $10000, there is no need to sell the GPX's for ridiculous low prices. They will jump up again.

Re: GPZ7000 SOLD OUT!
I believe that too Slimpickens..
Everyone is in a mad dash to raise the money, for this machine they know nothing much about
and I feel giving their good machines away..
It's their choice I know..
They may regret it down the track.. I know I would.

Re: GPZ7000 SOLD OUT!
Agree Harry/Jen. Although I can't say that part of all that's happening at the moment is mostly of our own doing.Blind high demand, for the new detector has caused the collapse of second hand sales,to the point where even dealers aren't taking trade-ins for the new toy. Losses all round for the consumer, win, win all round for the dealer/wholesaler. Oh well let the rush begin.
Cheers Kon.

Re: GPZ7000 SOLD OUT!
Kon...
I agree. I had to explain the same thing to a friend with 30 years experience who knows where a lot of local "skeletons" are buried. Having the new gear ASAP is a big advantage for him and he can immediately get himself over likely ground ( a good bloke for clues about a recent "burn"). The possible benefit over-rides the small risk when you consider the generally good history of ML gear etc.
My greatest challenge (2years experience) is finding likely ground. In addition - I usually want to know what the performance is like before I get too excited (about ANY gear).
Cheers

Are you serious Jen?
I thought that as soon as ml knew I had taken delivery they would stop production
As surely no one else wants one of these extreeeeeemly over priced detector's!
You know I herd a rumor that ml bought the rights to the infinium off garret and just reboxed it
So if I was youzzz I would wait and see for at least 2 years just to make sure that its OK.

Re: GPZ7000 SOLD OUT!
So ut's a VLF & sort of PI combo, works a bit like the ole Sov,
10.7 smackaroos is too hot for this little black duck and a hell of a lot of other ducks in Australia I reckon.
10.7 kays would get me a nice kitchen refit.
At that price we detectorists a are being made to look like a bunch of gullible fools by Minelab........It is a metal detector with one piddlin cct board... well maybe two.
that kind of money will get me a truely fantastic computor guided 16 inch astro telescope with the most precision optical train plus camera system and computor guided from inside my house with imaging displayed on my tv screen.......Large flat screen tv included in the price. Also has an inbuilt GPS so the scope knows where it is anywhere on the planet.
Here is a 12 incher...Second hand but.

Yeah....in other words they cost very little to make.
A reminder to those mortgaging their home to buy one. Don't forget to sell a couple of ounces each year and pay the extra allowable on your mortgage (why does it begin with mort, isn't that Latin for death?) otherwise you may end up paying $16 to $30K by the time it's paid off.
In such a case , all things considered you would be far better off just sticking with the GPX and focusing on improving your propecting skills. That excludes you blokes who know of potato patches of course.
I'm thinking of those of us who live hundreds of kms from the goldfields and can't get into it every weekend.

Hi Adrian, If you're going by the so called "manual" it is a hacked one for the FCC licence, still has a lot of CTX specs in it. She's not FBS2.
I'm really tempted, to be able to go back to your old patch, look at the screen, find where you left off last time and continue on without mindlessly going around and around in circles not knowing how many times you've been over the same spot, or from which direction.
Especially good for wide open spaces without landmarks and forests where every tree looks the same. I just hope they've used a high sensitivity receiver otherwise it will be limited under a thick tree canopy, and accuracy will be worse than +/- 3 metres.
I know I could just use my GPS but to have it all within easy reach like this would be great.
Cheers

I use an Explorer 100. Cheap, very simple and works well. Gets me to within 10 feet of a way point..........Weeeeeel I used ta use it . That got pinched by the dead beats who swiped my Gold Bug.

Re: GPZ7000 SOLD OUT!
I have found the GPS on the CTX to be fantastic. Very accurate and it's great to not only capture find points but put in areas of interest in through exchange and walk right onto the site
Re: GPZ7000 SOLD OUT!
It didnt give a very good signal on the big slug, i know it was 3 feet but it was BIG BIT OF GOLD, SMALL COIL I KNOW, but what do youse think? I think it will be a very good detector, but I dont think you will start getting 10 ouncers at 2 and a half feet.
but then if it starts to get lots of small bits that would be great!
its got an 11 inch coil which may be handy on under 1 grammers!
