MINERS RIGHTS UPDATE
Gidday guys,
I want to inform all prospectors, that there is an update for fees regarding a Miners Rights here in Victoria. Leanne Kamp from Gold & Relics has been informed the following :
"Letter received today from the Department of Economic Development, Jobs, Transport & Resources confirming the new 10 year Miners Right at $17.20. There is no longer a two year Miners Rights."
if you have already purchased to renew or take out a new Miners Rights on 1/1/2015, then please contact York Cook on 03 9092 1972. York will be happy to refund you the difference.
The reason for these changes :
The reduction in costs is because when they made the Regulations they implemented the Department of Treasury and Finance cost recovery guidelines. That policy says they must recover costs for administering the Regulations. As a result some costs went up, while others, like miner's rights, decreased. Miner's rights are fairly low effort from an administrative point of view, particularly with online application, hence the lower fees.
Anyone taking out a miner's right before the update is applied to the online form will have an excellent case for a refund, since it's the Regulations that set the cost and not the website.
Cheers
Lynnie
