What programmes can you use to get maps that show all the hills and landscape, instead of just a flat map. Is this 3D mapping.
If any one can help or point me in the right direction please.

Have google earth but cannot get 3D elevations.  Also am trying at moment to get Ozie explorer 3D to work but having no luck.
Anyone have step by step instructions?  Was hoping there was a programme that just did this.  Want maps that look like this, see link for this website.

As far as I know Detrackozi uses the Oziexplorer 3D to get his maps looking like that, but he is a "Pro" Very Happy and been doing it a long time, if he is asked very nicely he may give us all a clue as to how to make our maps come out in 3D like he does.

I have both Ozi for PC and Android as well as Ozi 3D. Ozi 3D is used in conjunction with the PC version of Oxiexplorer, you also need to have the Topographical Height Data available on your PC or Laptop and the path to that data set in the config files. Without it, you cannot build the 3D matrix that Ozi3D then overlays the map info onto.

That info is huge, 5 DVDs worth.

I have just downloaded the height data for the area's I need via oziexplorer (NASA info) didn't think there was much point having heaps of height data that I will probable never use, if I find an area that I need it for I just get it for that area.

The DVDs I have were made available to me, so I copied them.

BTW that info is just for Australia. It sits in the background so no matter what part of the country I'm in or want to look at, I don't need to go online.

Hi everybody,

I'm, desiring to venture to parts unknown to me and instead of poking around in the dark , do any members know where and how to get area maps over the internet?? School hols are coming up fast and I,m itching to get the SDC onto the ground... I hope someone can help... noyungan
