Im doing a little,i say a little cause im still sorting out ongoing problems.
They work,no gold for me yet but ive got 6 days in so far and where i take it i need alot more time then that,if your gonna do it i can lend a few tips,i did 3 days last week with mine and cracked the coil in 2 spots........
I have a fix for that i think but im running it in rough country,i dragged mine 120klms in 3 days the other day,my thoughts are there only good for patch hunting out in untouched country more or less.
Gold must be near the surface and prob 5gr+ ?,you might hear smaller depends on circumstances,if you drag one threw a good patch you will know about it.....
Im running a 2200,the noises coming through nearly drive you nuts but targets stand out.
3 days i got,3 bits of wire(geos wire-tags),one old horseshoe,3 bits of foil(geos foil),and a very old timber nut in the hills that got me excited.

tow along coils 86DC0C1F-B813-45F6-9B76-BCD80180B991

Now it works well but i want to use it pretty well everywhere, hey why not but the coil is not designed to do what i want to do with it,you can see in that pic the crack, another fracture foward of that on the same rib also.
I had it cable tied tightly in 4 spots on the outside and threw centre, over rough ground there was no give, maybe just tied on centre rail it might hold up ok but got my doubts long term.
If you do ok with it if it needs replacing every coupla yrs so be it....
My idea now is fix mine(plastic weld) then maybe some foam underneath it to act as a shock absorber,i'll sort it out but just letting you know what could happen over rough country, only really designed for salt lakes or smooth ground.
Why not hit the backblocks and run it everywhere i say.....
Just might pay off big time......

PS: gold fields explorer on here runs one a bit to,he might chime in.
Detector on mine in ammo box, long lead to battery in box on quad, another thing i have to sort is more protection for coil cable(inside conduit) rocks and bushes etc damage it judt wrapped around coil drag pipe.
Good luck if ya do it,fire away if ya need more help....

On Ismael Jones web site he has some pics and measurements of a drag coil setup he made, looks good, you may want to compare.

Just scroll down a bit to see the sled/drag coil
