newbie to prospecting

Hi everyone,my name is Troy ,living in the southwest of WA,i am new to prospecting have had the bug for alot of years now ,i have purchased a e-terra 705 gold pack as my first detector.just looking to get out camping and having a look around ,have been doing heaps of homework on the computer about "miners rights"[ which should be back next week] ,and doing alot of reading up on tengraph [still trying to clear a few things up with that],but im sure there is people out there willing to share there knowledge which would help clear a few things up especial about prospecting with regards to leases[paper work req] etc,ok happy hunting to you all ,cheers Troy
