New member - Brisbane
Hi all,
I'm a new member, just arrived in Brisbane. Have picked up a prospecting licence so ready to go !! However, trying to work out where it is legal to prospect given the regulations limiting prospecting in this state.
Equipment is an old SD2200D but modified, and an xterra 705 that I got for my young boys and its lighter and versatile to use (have taken it to the beach with the kids with great results and keeps their interest up !!)
Keen to meet anyone around the Brisbane and surrounding areas who may like to go out for a swing some time. Will hope to get back to the mecca of Victoria at times throughout the year - but thought I should learn about my new backyard now I'm a new Queenslander.
Cheers
Shane

Re: New member - Brisbane
Hi sw55 welcome to the forum, I am sure you will find someone in the Brisbane area to prospect with, have you considered a club, as for being a Queenslander you will be required to remain a guest resident for the next 30 years before you can claim Queenslander status, your time start...now .

Hi Wayne,
Yes I'm going to pop along to the Brisbane Metal Detecting Club tomorrow night - only discovered it today...
I'm glad to hear it only takes 30 years these days to become a Queenslander, unfortunately, because I have a Victorian birth certificate it may take longer.
Cheers Shane
