My Best Day out on the Coins & Relics
All,
This would rank as one of my best hunts ever.
Finds include:
KGIII: 1818 Half Crown, 1816 Shilling, 18XX Shilling, 1817 6P, 18XX 6P
KGIV: 1826 Shilling, 1829 Shilling
WilliamIV: 18XX 6P, 1835 3P
Victoria: 1845 Shilling, 1844 6P, 18X2 6P, 18XX 6P
KGV: 1916 Shilling
So other goodies include a Williams Gold Office Token from EagleHawk : http://museumvictoria.com.au/collections/items/60851/token-1-penny-j-w-g-williams-ironmongers-drapers-eaglehawk-victoria-australia-circa-1858
Also an East India Company one cent 1845 ( http://coinquest.com/cgi-bin/cq/coins?main_coin=7349 )and a very worn KGIII half penny (probably 1806).
One of the really nice relics was what I think was a clock winder that was also a working compass (gilded in gold), and a couple of nice pieces of Victorian gold jewellery.

Yeah all in a days hunt in an area of about 2 acres. Looking forward to posting more when I can get permission to go back there.
