Gpx 4000! Should i buy?
Im looking at a GPX 4000 with 3 coils, earphones, charger and harness that someone is selling for $3200. I dont know there is anything wrong with the machine, Im wondering what does anyone think about this offer?

Re: Gpx 4000! Should i buy?
G'day farming-gold,
Just did a search and found this.
http://www.coiltek.com.au/pages/second-hand-detectors
They give a warranty with all detectors they sell.
Cheers.
Mike.

That is a great price and great metal detector.
Coming with 3 coils is probably all you will need.
Just be careful who you are buying it from.Little bit of extra caution is always good.
If you get it from friend of friend of friend then you should be ok.
You can always send it to minelab to check it.(check serial number first with them).
As mike said if you want a little bit peace of mind buy it from the shop and get some extra warranty.
Good luck with it.

Re: Gpx 4000! Should i buy?
If it was me.. I would take the safer option
And go through a dealer.
Unless it is someone you knew and trusted.
P.s. I had a gpx4000 great machine..

She arrived today. I took her out for a spin. Found a nice rotten sheet of iron about a metre deep in the ground though.
Gonna smash my head into these forums and learn the secrets of this brilliant machine!

Re: Gpx 4000! Should i buy?
What im scanning is the massive rock beds that were left after our last big flood. Ive been scanning behind logs, stumps and big ditches.
The machine was pre-owned and had all these setting all hooked up, I dont know what soil conditions the previous owner was scanning, Im next to bushland and rivers no red dirt here.
Mono i think Big white dish 11"
Iron off
gain 16
volume 24
tune 60
smooth n extra
General
Ill give some details If i find something!

Did the instruction manual come with it?
Hope this helps some.

Re: Gpx 4000! Should i buy?
yeah dave, a instruction manual did come with it.
In that case its a DD.
It was extra, then i changed it to smooth.
The manual has all the factory setting for general. But I was going off what the last user had it on plus he wrote them down in the manual. Again I dont know his soils. Anyway out for more testing soon
