How much to modify a 3500???

I am on the lookout for 3500 (in the UK) with a view to bringing it over to Oz and getting it modded.

My questions are - How much does it cost to get done and what is the turnaround from start to finish???
Oh - and what coils can be used and recommended for this???

From what I read around the place ,I believe they bring around $3000.......... prob around $500 to mod it, then about the same again to get minelab to Un-mod it so it works again not sure on the turn around

If you're going to spend around the $4000 mark after buying a GP3500 and having it modded,you'll be much better off considering a late model GPX4000. I found that coupling a 4000 to a Nugget Finder 17"x11" white plastic or new Advantage series coil, gave me a dynamite combination, which covered just about 80% of my prospecting needs.

Thanks for the replies, I thought it would be a bit cheaper to be honest - then there's a chance it won't work properly in the end.

There's a few (hopefully real) 4500's available secondhand here in the UK but they are still bloody pricey!!! They are around the £4000 mark - That's over $6500 AUD!!!

Then there's the one's in America and UAE they could be fake - they are about 25% cheaper to suck you in.

The GP3500 is a great machine but you can grab a GPX4000 for around $4000 AUD with some extra Coils etc.
