Re: gp3000 and 3500
G'day fabphil I used to have a 3000 and the 3500. There was only about 4 changes made to the 3500 compared to the 3000. My 3000 was a very good machine and I should have hung onto it. Oh well can't change the past. Yes the 3000 was a very capable detector and with patients you will find gold with it.
Cheers.
Mike.

Hi Phil
Its not about power its about frequencies used.More high frequencies used in the pulse train make a machine better in the first third of capacity, more low frequencies used make a machine better in the third third of capacity. The Gps series is an alrounder with a mix of both.
Cheers Dig

As well as the button on the handle for ground balancing, the 3500 has adjustable tracking speed: slow; med; fast. I think 3000 has only one speed: fast (going from memories of Jonathan Porter DVD).

Hello gurus
I got a modded Gp3500 (modded by Ismael) many a year ago. Just got back into detecting.
I found that NOT using the mods, makes the machine behave MUCH better, i.e less yodeling :-)
but still didn't find any nuggies, but that's probably just me looking for love in all the wrong places :-)
Has any one any experience around Avoca and care to share their knowledge with me (and 5000 others) on this forum.
My question: How much better is the latest ML compared to the GP 3500? Any gurus out there that can share their experience?
Regards
Frank

Re: gp3000 and 3500
I know a few prospectors who were using the 3500 up until 3 years ago and not often finding gold?
They updated to the GPX series , 4000, 4500 & 5000 and are getting sub grammars nearly every day in the field, the big ones ( bigger than a gram ) are few and far
between in the well worn gullies of the GT. Though a mate popped out a nice 7 grammar on a field he had not been to before.
If you can afford it get a GPX.
