Coiltek Coils
I been having alot of fun dragging this 40 x 20 anti-Interference coil around, Which i have ever done
Before and always wanted to give it try, At first i got alot of noise from the coil lead if moved over bumps
Or hit rocks which i found a cure for and cut back the noise by securing the coil cable firmly on a boom set up
With cable ties, I aslo mounted my detector into a small plastic sturdy ice box and drilled holes for the cables to enter in & out
The box is filled with foam , So the detector is fully protected inside the box while being mounted to the rear of quad bike
It all worked very well after lots of testing without any Interference from the ignition .
I also tested the GP 3500 while dragging & using the smallest target to get the best depth i could.
Later i tested the Sd 2200 green machine doing the same thing, So far its been really interesting to spend time
Just setting targets into the ground to give you a idea how far its going down on what size targets
Cant wait to get out there again and try a few other things before i am ready to drag it in some ground that has
Produced for me...

Hiyah costa
Well i havent finished yet but my 3500 was very good at depth for smaller targets being a newer machine.
But the 2200 has a good name for finding big targets down deep, My 3500 has always been a sensitive machine the
way i have it set up and its found alot of big gold down deep in hard ground , My tests will be another few weeks yet
so i will know more then , I have a 4000 also, but i know i couldnt use it for dragging unless i make some changes
becoz its far more sensitive then the 3500 , I think if your looking for big gold most detectors will find it
For me i would hate to drive over 1oz and miss it, so i want to know my set up and machine well ,
I am happy to know it all works good so far after many hours of setting up and testing over few months
Cheers GoldfieldsExplorer

Re: Coiltek Coils
GFE im just getting setup to to the same. Picked up a 2200 the oday and 40ai coil next cuppla weeks.
Interested to know if you(sounds like box is mounted on bike) have box on bike or down near coil. My plans are box near coil.
Took the 22 out the oday and she purs like a kitten, coil next few weeks then setup the frame and rubber belting etc.
Towing behind a 2012 Polaris 400 but i have a old Suzi 250 kingquad im rebuilding for the girl and that will be used for dragging when its finished.
You say you have bugger all interference with box on bike???
Keep ya updated as i mess with the frame etc.

Re: Coiltek Coils
Ok gfe found it yep.
Is that the finished set up?
I plan on getting the conveyer belt off the ground where it mounts at rear of bike so it can easily slide over obstacles. My idea now is weld a small frame up i can bolt on at towbar that will have the conveyer belt 6-10inches above the towbar height. If i bolt the belt on here or extend that small frame a coupla feet back im not sure but thats my plan at the moment. Thinkin im gonna run conduit down the belting for the coil or box depending where i put it.

Hi
yes its finished just a few small mods along the way if need be,
it all works great and cheap to repair. I will change drag ropes as they stretch a bit
but I keep a eye on them and adjust when need to, so I don't have any pull on my cable
black poly pipe I use to keep cable secure at 5 dollars a section easy to screw into make longer
or shorter -I am using a 3500 machine it does the job good no noise at all from ignition
so coil is about 2 meters behind bike, the black poly pipe with the cable attaches to rear of quad
which allows top section of pipe turn when the bike makes sharp turn.
anyhow good luck your way cheers GFE ..
PS another better movie is up now if you want to check it out more .
