control box cover with battery compartment for gpx 5000

Hi all , I have just purchased a gpx 5000 gold detector, does anyone know if it is possible to attach the li-on battery pack to the control box cover,i would like to eliminate the harness and long curly cord. Also is there a short battery cord available to connect the battery to the control box, any feedback will be appreciated, cheers.

Go to Double D leather in Bendigo for the cover, they don't list them on their web site as a product, but will make one on request. I got my short cable from Coiltek, other detector shops will probably have them. It works a real treat and cost about 100 all up. Mount a speaker on the detector somewhere as well for a full wireless setup.

Thanks for the all the info Cam , I will contact Double D leather to order the control box cover with battery compartment , and I will contact coiltek regarding the short battery power lead, I have just ordered a carbon fibre upper and lower shaft kit from gold city detecting in Queensland . As soon as I receive all the items I will put the 5000 together and head for the hills, Cheers.
