Dongarra Gold Spots
Hi Zacc, I used to live just down the road from you at Jurien Bay but have just moved back to Metro Perth.
Your closest areas would be around Yalgoo, plenty of spots down the Yalgoo to Paynes Find road, also the Yalgoo to Morawa road . Hope this helps. Cheers Greg

Hi Zacc,
Could you tell us what metal detector you plan on using and what sort of maps you will be using, we have been there and done that so fire away, maybe we could help you settle into prospecting a bit easier
Regards Ron

Hi Zacc,
Your definitely not getting ahead of yourself by helping yourself, far from it,If you just go for a wander you might as well walk along the beach. A better way is to prepare yourself for the onslaught, you obviously have use of a computer so the best form of map would be geological, these will show, with a cross(crossed picks) exactly where the old timers used to get their gold, it can be, once you get there to just extend the lines and maybe find your own patch that the old timers would have missed.
The maps can be obtained from mineral house in perth and they are on CD, that is every geo map of WA for the price you would pay for about 1.5 paper maps, there is other electronic gizzmo's that could help you to find gold but the main thing is that you don't get lost, and believe me even if you think you have pretty good directional sense it is easy to get lost, very easy, unless you keep sight of the camp at all times and sometimes because of terrain this is nigh on impossible, so i would recommend a GPS.
If you think you have it all covered then good luck in your endevours, but there is a lot more you should know before you venture out there!!
Feel free to ask!!!
Regards Ron

======also the Yalgoo to Morawa road =======
Bushranger I find your thoughts about the morawa yalgoo road perplexing as I have walked possibly the length of that road .....and have spoken to some prospectors that have found the same as me NIL
The mining company that owns the leases is finding very little as they had been drilling for some time > Deep and very narrow veins 50mts up to 120 mtrs (Don't think your detector will go that deep)
So I find it interesting that you say there is patches there, would you like to confirm this
If so I will keep looking
Zacc if you are to go down the paynes find road do not get caught prospecting (Deep Sh^t)
Golden Grove and Golden Stallion are hot at present

Yalgoo
Hi U308,
A story in GG&T a couple of months back was about a couple of newcomers to prospecting stayed at the Yalgoo pub and while there they were told by visiting geo's that down the Morawa road was indeed a patch, anyway they visited the spot and picked up a few nuggy's for there troubles. While we are at it could you elaborate on the Golden Grove patches, i've been to Payne's Find and Fields Find but didn't go as far up as GG, if you want to be more secretive about the news could you email me on authere@westnet.com.au
Regards Ron

Dngarra/Yalgoo
Hi, I don't know too much about the Morawa Road patches, a friend of mine has found gold down that way and the tracks opposite the main areas go east towards Rothsay, all gold country.I recently spent 2 weeks around
Messengers Patch and the eastern end of Golden Grove and never saw another person and then followed the original road down to Perenjori past the new Kagara Mine site.Opposite the air strip at Golden Grove is a track, follow that in thru an old fence and keep going until you come to a windmill, turn left and follow the fence line for about 6 kms and you will come to some old scrapeings. Keep on going along the fence and take the next track to the right[about 2 more kms] and this will take you to another set of workings.
Cheers Greg

Re: dongara w.a gold spots
authere - re Golden Grove are hot.....47 yesterday 50 today
OZL are on the lookout for prospectors same with Golden Stallion
Have a mate that works at Golden Grove.
Thanks bushranger for your thoughts. ATWGold owns the leases out east of Gullewa, the mini gold rush that occured after the couple announced to one and all at the yalgoo hotel has not done the relationship between miners and prospectors alot of good (I have the letter to prove it)

Morawa Yalgoo Rd Patches
Very interested to learn more about patches on the Morawa-Yalgoo Rd.
I will be over that way on business in a few weeks time and could perhaps create some time to have a swing.
Please let me know if you learn anything.
Thanks
