Awww man!
So it looks like you were running a fines trommel off the end too???
I actually bought one of those 'end' trommels that I am 'gonna' put a bigger screen on it and use it as a sampling trommel...
Got the screens etc....
Got all the gear..
but the time.......
Good **** this mining for yella eh?

Ahhh yes ok!
The camp has fallen down now!
And yes you go around to the left of the plant site.
Where did all the rock go? I've never actually gone in there.

Re: Gold Wet Plant - Palmer River
The dam wall is still used as the access Wilf.
Remember the spillway used to be crap to cross? Well the Fitzies fixed that up really well but it has washed out a bit with the recent rain.
I thought maybe the oversize was in the wall, but its a little deceiving because where it started to erode, it looked like tailings??!
So you were mining below the dam wall down towards the mango trees??
What sort of yields were you getting in there?

hi
we used to dump the rock mainly just over the side but tried ta put the bigger rocks over the spilway side and tried ta guide the water along the edge of the bank before it dropped into the creek ...but iv'e seen 3--4 feet of water going over the spillway and just rips it out..

Rest In Peace Wilf
I'm sorry to inform all that Wilf passed away on March 10, 2014 after a short battle with cancer. So many stories left untold - from a man with so much "gold" and "trucking" experience. I'll miss you Wilf. My condolences to his family. Colin

Re: Gold Wet Plant - Palmer River
Thankyou Bulletfinder for informing me of this.
Wilf and I had some amazing and 'informing' email conversations!
It is indeed sad, when old timer miners pass away.....
But when you can actually say....."I knew him" or "I talked to him!" .............
Makes it more special eh???
