Re: Palmer River NQ
Hi, there is good and bad news The bad is the main Maytown area is a protected reserve so no metal detecting but if you had a lease you can use heavy machinery in the same area. Outside the Maytown reserve you will not get the property owner to sign your fossickers licence. But you will always find some people will have a go illegally. Also to get to the Maytown area you need to cross the Palmer River and this time of year if there is rain up stream in the catchment area you may not get over or get back. The good news is a property owner near the Palmer River road house lets people on a large area over the road from the road house for a fee per day and the road house looks after that for the property owner. Also have a talk to George at the NQ minersden he may have some advice also. Hope this helps cheers Greg

Re: Palmer River NQ
Hi Gary
The property across from the Roadhouse as said above is Maitland Downs, the property near Maytown is Palmerville do not attempt to go on this property this guy is very anti social!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have heard Bonnie Glen station charges for access $50.00/ day no it's not a typo that's the price, apparently very large area with very little access track and rugged country, the people that run the Rodhouse lease it of a guy ask if you can get in contact with him as he has a lease at maytown Im not saying ask him for access but just to have a good chat to him for some local knowledge nice guy if you approach him right.
hope this helps a bit.
Pm me if you like.
