Pump Pick Up Hose.

Is there an air leak at the intake tube of the pump? I have, in the past, put a single wrap of vinyl electricians' tape on the pump's input tube and put the flexible input hose over that. The tape seals the gap.

Do you have a hole in the intake flexible tubing? Wrapping the outside of the hose at the hole with the same vinyl tape makes a good, quick, temporary repair.

Trying to put that 1/2 meter flexible hose on a stubborn input tube? Simply dip the end of the hose in boiling water to soften it. It will slip on easily and the hose clamp will make a solid seal.

Can anyone recommend a few places to pick up hose pipe (inlet and outlet) I'm currently putting the final pieces together for my first highbanker build. Where does everyone buy their hose ?

Thanks again Snowy this gives me a good idea of what its going to cost all up.... I should be able to sort the pump and hoses out for around $330 the highbanker has cost $170 (total materials) so not bad really $500 for a complete kit 10inch wide × 42inch long

 

Hi all my tip with pumps is to keep the pump as close to the water as you can as these type of pumps will push water alot better then they will perform on suction. cheers ashley

Well said Ashley but you do have to allow for bank ledges and such so around a couple of meters is about right
