That article was written by Ed Waller, who later wrote the very interesting book "And there's gold out there," a novel based on Ed's own experience prospecting for gold and tin mostly in southern NSW. Not only is it a good read, it is full of interesting information, and well worth seeking out.

I think i definatly have the gold bug (not the detector ), when not able to head out bush i have been known to sit for hours just staring at my gold

 

You know you have the fever when your sitting out the back of the breakers on your surfboard thinking about nuggets
I even find myself staring at quartz embeded in the sandstone cliffs at my local rockfishing spot......was that a glint of gold,nah just my mind playing tricks again
My wife has had a taste of the fever,she detected her first nugget over christmas but being fairly switched on,she knows how much work it can be for so little glory. Me....being fairly stubborn,I dont see the labour as work....just dirt I need to move to get the Gold!

O the simply way of life yes freedom I have been filming most of my trips now
