yep it will
Yep it will quiten down but the sensitivity is reduced that much that it WILL be missing stuff and even then its not comfortably quiet. I will keep the AT as it is a fantastic machine but not for Vic Goldfields..

Re: Dollys Creek worth detecting
Got to hand it to you all for not giving up, rest a shore it was there and I am sure you and if not some others have already found a few nice lumps without others knowing.
It is not all small gold to be found and just to give you a idea have alook at these
4oz's
just over 2oz's bit
What about this nice 6 oz's lump
It was a lot better ground to work before the fire went through but give it about another 10-15 years and I am sure it will thin out abit more

Now that you have your new 5000 I am sure it will not be long before you start to find a few smaller bit.
some of these were found almost 10 years back
I am sure there is going to be some sweaty Prospectors out there tomorrow in that 43 Deg heat

Re: Dollys Creek worth detecting
There is lots of shallow hole's along the ridge line and some good runs down the hill into the creek, there is buck's of fine Au in those banks along the creek that has come of that hill face that has not been worked.
On the flat top of that hill I and two others got bogged for 4 hrs one winter so be careful if you drive in there in winter the water sits on a hard cap rock down 2ft and all on top is like soup and I mean sandy load soup

thats interesting
Hey that's interesting about the cap rock.....I had a look today at a cap rock feature that was just poking up near a big sluiced area that had been gouged into the hill and thought .. hmmmmm...on areas where that cap rock is close to surface maybe some gold is sitting on it :-)

Re: Dollys Creek worth detecting
Now that was not hard, you are onto it if you could only wash the rest of the Tpc off the cap rock as they were trying to do to recover the gold.
Years ago I found some very good runs of small gold that was on ground that had only half been washed down , so keep your eye open for more such area's
Last time I pasted through there I went down to the camp area were I posted about the panning and working the sluice and boy has that creek had some working since I started this post and knowing the area there has been some good gold found for sure
It is a sham that with all that read on hear and have been out there and found gold don't post what they found to let others know , I am sure they are mind set that If I tell others they will come and they will be loosing gold for themself, gold sure can make people greedy
Not long now before the water will be back so get out there and start locating area's you would like to work
Good luck to all
David

Re: Dollys Creek worth detecting
All did not go as planned had the go pro on my chest mount and that is what you viewed on that vid and was going to have it running while I moved to each location but the go pro let me down so out came the back up camera and did a bid of the other location with that so will have them up here tonight .
Many have maps of area's you would like to go but to see it first on vid can give you a good idea if it a area you would like to try
Till tonight
