Windeyer NSW Free camping

Hi there everyone.
I was wondering if anyone has been to windeyer?
Im looking at heading out there in the coming weeks, Does anyone know if it is possible to camp along the river for free at allocated areas? Im hoping to do some panning and detecting while im out there. So some place near the water would be ideal.

Gday mate,
there is a camping spot on crown land near the Meroo crossing just SE of Windeyer on Queens pinch rd. Plenty of water there normally, and some good rock bars to crevise.
As a detecting spot,you never know? One thing is for sure there are plenty of big Inch Ants there so look out for them.
Also,the local property owners dont usually let anyone on their properties,so stay off private land.

Caravan park has very cheap rates plus you can pan on the river that runs next door, very friendly owners. went to a film night and were invited to prospect on some local property. Did not find anything but who knows. This was 12 months and 40,000 K's ago but who knows. Liked the joint .

Leeches along parts of that creek so big they have agents. A few months back they were going for our fingers and getting in the pan. Wasn't too much water but the caravan park is nice

Had a cabin at the caravan park. Good tucker at the pub. Leeches very friendly ! Take care or they will pinch your pan !
