Hi, I have just bought my first detector for something to do when I can get spare time. I dont know much about this hobby as yet. I live remote in the N.T. Would I be better off going to Halls Creek or Pine Creek, (both about the same distance). Also is their any detectable gold in the Tanami (especially northern areas) or is it down very deep. Any input would be much appreciated. Peterau

Welcome to the forum, Peterau. I cannot help you much as I live in Qld. I have visited both areas before I took up detecting but I would be inclined to give Pine Creek a go. Do a bit of reading on the forum for Newbies and Google both areas and see what you come up with.
