Starting Out re What do you need?

When usinga rare earth magnet - which are Bloody strong - I keep it in a small plastic bottle say about 5 times the depth of the magnet.

Riffle it through you excavated dirt, inspect the magnetic findings and then turn to a detected direction and give it a sharp shape. All the crap falls off. I then just plonk it next to any steel on my belt/harness, where it safely stays until I need it again. Saves trying to scrapr the magnetic crud off all the time.
