Re: Gold Detecting FIFO
Some people used to have a saying for FIFO when I was working and I couldnt resist opening your post to see if some was having a go at members of the the prospecting fraternity...
Good luck with your business venture over there at Laverton. Nice part of the world too.

Hi All
Uncle Bob is correct, grog is at the customers expense but food and everything else is supplied. Oh! You do need to bring your own clothing, hat and boots.
Thanks
Kim

Re: Gold Detecting FIFO
Hi All
Getting to Perth is not a problem there are many flights with different airlines. To get to Laverton you need to go from the Perth Terminal to the Skippers Aviation Terminal which is a seperate building. I recommend jumping in a Taxi to get to the Sippers Terminal, it costs around $10. It is not too far from the Perth terminal but most likely difficult to get there if you have to carry luggage and and maybe a little confusing.
Skippers fly to Laverton 3 times a week (Mon, Wed, Fri) and I have found Fridays are usually the cheapest. If you book early enough there is usually a special $217 one way. The planes are smallish so please dont expect a boeing 787. Laverton has a bitumen airstrip just in case you where thinking it would be a dusty landing. If you are booking connecting flights I also recommend leaving a good time frame between flights so there is no rushing.
To have a look at the flights for Skippers please go to this site
http://www.skippers.com.au/
If you have any questions please feel free to give us call 08 90311660
The Laverton Luck Store opening hours in the Spring and Summer Months is 1pm to 7pm
During the Autumn and Winter months it is open between 8am - 4 pm
Thanks Kim, Linc. Steve, Mark and Darcy

Re: Gold Detecting FIFO
hi Kim;
just a suggestion for y'all;
you might consider posting on the USA gold forums that this service is available...there is always a few Yanks wondering how and where to go in Oz...I have many times thought that a helicopter and a good supply of food, water and beer and a distant drop-off and pick-up would have great potential...
Good hunting...

Hi Kim,
There are two other US forums you may want to look at;
http://www.nuggetshooter.ipbhost.com/index.php?
and
http://www.nuggethunting.com/forums/index.php
Those two along with the AZO forum which you already have listed above
are the ones that most of us look at over here.
All the best,
flak

Re: Gold Detecting FIFO
Anyone with a pilots licence, should just get a few people together and hire out a twin engine plane from moorabin airport fly there direct probarly cheaper if you have 6 or so people.

Skippers allows a total weight of luggage at 15kgs.
Anyone have any ideas of motels near the Perth airport. something cheap, but niceish as i will be doing an over nighter in Perth before continuing onto Laverton
