I was amazed the other day i decided to wave my GPX 5000 over the creek water. the creek was at least 1 foot deep on the creek drop off. when it went off wooo woooo wooo i thought no way. I actually dug down about a foot and a half and got a end bit of a nail. so it detected in a 12 inch of water and another 15 or so inches underground.

Whilst i was annoyed i dug down so deep in already a foot of water to get a 10th of a nail head i was really impressed that this unit could even do that.
