Commander 11" DD not working

hey team,

My DD has stopped working in DD mode. Mono or cancel still functions........ I have put the multi meter across the points and have an open circuit between pins 1 and 2 and it should be about 0.2 ohm........ now I can check the back of the plug easy enough but if that is in good order I will attack the coil to find the break.

My question is........... is it a reasonably simple task to take the coil apart or do you invariably wreck it entirely in the process?

Hi Dave
Its a big job Dave as you need to remove the shielding carefully once the housing is opened.The most obvious break will be in the moving section of cable just above the gland lock nut so the easiest repair is cut a slit in the outer insulation at that point then insert a pin into each wire and check continuity back to the plug.
If you disassemble the coil and repair its likely it will not be stable anymore without shielding repair.

Aha…… found it !! Wire was off from pin 2 …. Easy fix
