Last week (or was it the week before) my gps also couldnt find any sats and then when it did it put me hundreds of miles from my location. Around the time the koreans let loose their biggest inter continental and the h-bomb . . . . . . had thought it was the yanks doing funny things with the sat system in the lead up to a conflict maybe !!!!!!! Lets hope not!!

Interesting, I know there has been some H.F radio blackouts lately due to Auroral activity but this is the first time I have heard of GPS users having trouble getting a fix.

Something to keep in mind particulary if out in the flat mulga country where there are not any high peaks to get a bearing on.

Thanks for the reports.

I'm pretty sure if we end up with a world conflict over Korea (lets pray we don't) that the military take over all control of GPS satellites and there will be no domestic use. So Rotor you could have been right. I think I was driving then as well using my car GPS and it went of line for a few minutes as well. Like it just froze, but then came back on line.
