Gold Panning at Woods Point

Hi the " Gold Bug " has bitten me once again after a long absence (30 years)
I last panned up Woods Point a little over 30 years ago & im currently planing
a return trip . If anyone could point me in the right direction as to the better parts
to try my luck with a pan , any help would be greatly appreciated.

Gold is/was all through the area. Over a hundred tons of gold came out of the surrounding gold fields.

I spent some time panning and sluicing in the general surounding areas during the early to mid 70s. I did find some gold which I kept in a capped container but dropped the lot in a gully creek and then spent the rest of the day dishing it back again.
Think I enjoyed being in those deep tree ferny gullies more than the actual gold panning and I reckon if I carked  it tomorrow my soul (if i have one) will head off back there.
