Hi Quortzy
The beach just after the bridge turn left and then right will get you to the car park, low tide has produced a few gold rings and lots of other goodies.Pambula gold mines up the yowaka river are worth a try as well.Tathra is also productive.Best of luck.

I have not been down that far myself but i know there is gold to be found in ther area. Get a permit for the Yurammie state forest area as that is where a few mines seem to be consentrated, north west of Merimbula towards Wolumla. Also south Pambula seems to have had a few mines that area may be worth a look, just south of Merimbula.
That should give you a few areas to look.

Beautiful area, just magic. Had a couple of half days on the hill above Wolumla. I was told one drive goes from one side of the hill right through to the other. Plenty of deep shafts. Merimbula museum data indicates it as a good nugget area and some claims producing very high grade ore. Found some copper attached to slag indicating a past smelter. Heavy earthworks in the area and I suspect the spot where the smelter may have been could now be under 20 feet of earth. I would consider that the hill is well worth more work. For directions ask anyone in Wolumla, you will understand why I do not give more detailed directions when you go there. Simply follow the track to a landing area at the bottom. Also met a retired dairy farmer who lived most of his life at Candelo and suggested to follow the river to Kameruka and pan the junction there. I went there and would like to give the spot a workout in summertime. Thanks again for your help Deutran and Shivan.
