Chilly night for a swing ... 24/4/12
Hi all , Caught up with TheGoldenChild last night for a swing . We decided to to bite the bullet & prospect a local area we have talked about for a while but always put it on the back burner . The weather cleared up here in Bendigo in the late evening so when Manny arrived we loaded up & headed out around 11.00pm .
This was our maiden voyage in this new area & our sights were set to retrieve atleast one piece to warrant tagging this place for a more thorough search .
Well we achieved our goal & we are now planning the assault to hit this place hard very soon .
As mentioned in the vid - It was @#$*!! Cold ....
Thanks for the company Manny & look forward to smashing this place
Regards
Gully Hunter

Gully Hunter do you think your detector runs smoother with the cold?

Re: Chilly night for a swing ... 24/4/12
Thanks guys ... Hi G.B , the reason it is running smooth is because i am running it in Audio-Quiet , but i am running the gain on 14 & the stabiliser on 11 with the motion set on very slow .
As you can see by the vid the ground is fairly shallow before it hits the hard gravel base - hence being able to run it in Audio-Quiet & not miss much at all . We regularly dig a test hole to determine the depth of the ground , from these results the settings can be tweaked to suit .
My usual settings were really chattery & singing out on false signals ... so to answer your question G.B i honestly couldnt say that i noticed the difference in the cold . But the detector definately runs quieter at night .

Certainly was cold bro but well worth the effort .
Can't wait to hit the area again, huge potential.
Mariner they are designer jeans ripped from factory , just because we are in the bush doesn't mean we can't dress up for the occasion .

Nice job boys loverly little nugget and a good vid as well. But I don't think I could hack it out at night at this time of year, like my comforts of home with a warm bed. I look at it this way "the nuggets" will still be there in the morning.

Nice one gully hunter, you should try panning at this time of the year, after 5 mins I couldnt feel my arms, and I only found 5 specs for 5 hours panning :>)
