Whites VS minelab
l am thinking about what detector to buy, l decided to get a PI rather then VLF, l read somewhere someone said the WhItes TDI pro oz detector is a cheaper alternative to a Minelab GPX, For around $2000 would l be better off getting a new WHites TDI or a second hand minelab GPX extreme or 3000?
Does the whites handle minerialisation as well as the minelab?

Re: Whites VS minelab
mate i have never used a tdi pro and maybe i will be corrected here but my understanding of them is that they are just about as good on big stuff as minelabs but on the smaller stuff they are not in the hunt.minelabs kill them on the small stuff. so on the strenghth of that i would get a 3000 before i got a tdi pro.
hope this helps

Hi hotrock
I use a whites TDI and have done so now for a few months.
I have found nuggets smaller than a gram without any problems.
The supplied spider coil is not good at all on the small gold , i recommend that you get a 14 x 9 mono coil or simular.
The 6 inch coil supplied is a killer on the small stuff around tree roots and tight spots.
I have infact done better than my mate with his 3500 covering the same ground.
It does take a while to get around the settings of the TDI but if you watch the DVD provided and follow the instructions you should fond some gold.

TDI
His 3000 and my TDI both handled the ground that we were on pretty well
