for the newbies starting out in vic
this is a thing that will tell you the things you need to follow when prospecting...if you scroll down there's a section called Prospecting Guide. it's a PFD file but a good start for the newbies that need to know about the rules...

G'Day Stoppsy,
Thanks for the link. I should be there by the start of April.
Is it still called "detecting" if I don't find anything???

Re: for the newbies starting out in vic
thanks for this info - has made it easier knowing a place to "start"
Got my miners license (10 year) and have bought some maps and done a fair bit of reserch on the net
Think i have a starting point anyway - am going to try a Vic location next weekend and see how I go. (unless all this rain has closed a few tracks - if so looks like will be walking a bit)
Hahaha - half the fun.
All the best and great forum
Cheers Daz

Nothing yet
Prospectors guide - read it!
Miners right - bought it
Introduction and lessons - had em - coiltek maryborough
GPX4500 - hire it.
Been detecting - Maryborough and Havelock.
Gold - nil
Bullets - many
Nails - a few
Shotgun cartridges - a few
.22 shell casings - too many
Sunburnt - yes
Bitten by - anything that crawls or flies.
But I suppose if it was easy, everybody would be doing it.
