Re: Anyone finding gold with the AT GOLD
Ive had my Garrett AT Gold for 2 weeks now from USA and i live in Australia, It was $250 cheaper so i had to buy it was a huge saving - if it was $30-$80 difference i would of got it from Aus but $250 is a lot!!
I havnt been hunting for gold yet, Got a trip planned to Mookerawa Water State Rec park for the Gold Muster 3rd & 4th November so i will post back when i hopefully find my first nugget
I went to the beach today for 3hrs and had a blast learning the different tones for trash & coins
Scored $11.95, 2x Match Box cars for the little fella, 1x Silver bangle (needs a clean to see if it proper silver though) If any one wants to open a hair dressers also send me a pm - So many bobby pins
I havnt had any problems with it, it DOESNT like the wet sand at the beach lots of noise from the ground but dry sand in Disc 1 is awesome + Disc 2 to tell if ive found a pull tab or the foil tops that seal the drinks under the lids.
* I was also getting some of those coins at over a foot in the sand, which i thought was good but it wasnt hard packed only sand after all....

Aussiedetecting wrote:Hey Fortunehunter, if you purchased your detector from an authorised garrett dealer here, then they can be found on the list of authorised dealers through the Gold Mining Centre. Usually this is on the back page of Gold Gem & Treasure. If that dealer isn't part of this group the chances are that the AT Gold isn't adjusted for Australian conditions. Who did you buy from & ill check for you?
As for finding gold smaller then 1 gram, yep it will do it. We tested on 0.6 yesterday buried at 35cm & it picked up no worries. Both in AM & Disc 1. Great thing was I had 6 or 7 other guys watching as I did it. All of them were surprised as they all had gp's & GPX's, the little garrett did its thing.
If you sell an AT-Gold that can perform as described in above with written and signed certification, you may contact and outline purchase procedure.

Re: Anyone finding gold with the AT GOLD
An update on Australian / US versions of the AT Gold. As was the case in late 2011 there were 2 versions. The Australian version was adjusted to suit our conditions. Garrett has now simplified things & taken the adjustments and they are now available in all versions.

Re: Anyone finding gold with the AT GOLD
If you can prove beyond doubt the AT-Gold you are selling can detect a 0.6 gram Gold nugget at 35 cm, then I will purchase one from you at whatever hiding place you might be at................... and in future show some integrity by keeping your profanities out of your PM's when replying.

No, I were not and you know very well why not.............but 6 or 7 other guys reportedly watched as you did it
If 8 blokes were present and watching at this test and no one recorded it on video and posted it on YouTube..........now that's a surprise............or is it

Re: Anyone finding gold with the AT GOLD
This is not a witch hunt but a discussion on the abilities of the detector. There is to be no discussion on the personalities on the matter, just keep it to the detector.
There are obviously different opinions between members so lets leave it at that without calling each other names. If you want to do that, then you can have a rest from the forum for a while.

Jefgold just lock the thread. That's ivanll's goal. I just don't care anymore. It's meant to be a friendly place where we share our experiences & help others. I booted him from my forum & this is why it was done.
